Sir Tej Bahadur Sapru's impact can be seen as the liberal attitude of National Movement, Sir Sapru believed in constitutional means of agitation under the influence of Gopal Krishna Gokhale. But they were not in concurrence with the extra-constitutional methods of agitation that were adopted by congress later on. He was the main pillar of National Movement during liberal phase. He worked as a bridge between liberals and extremists as he was very instrumental to bring back. Tilak and many other revolutionary leaders into the Congress in 1916. A new form and direction to Indian National Movement was given by Sapru.
He was a advocate and fought many cases of National importance such as 'Meerut Conspiracy Case'. He participated in all three round table conference as a liberal. Sir Sapru played an important role in the Poona Pact. Sir Sapru wanted to accept Jinnah's proposals and concede some more seats to him, if peace and agreement could be brought. He wanted India as a federation of the whole territorial units, under the British rule, by Indian constitution.
He was with national feelings of undivided India, as he favoured formation of interim government and he opposed creation of "Pakistan". Sir Sapru always tried to make Indian National Movement more participatory in nature. His deep patriotism was filled up with national spirit. So, it is evident that Sir Tej Bahadur Sapru played a great role in Indian Nationalism.
